Springfield -Branson National Airport
The Airport's Wright flyer is moved from the current terminal to the new terminal. The flyer is a reproduction of the aircraft used by the Wright Brothers for their historic first flight in 1903. This flyer was built by aviation enthusist Bill Gahn, with help from members of Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) 1218, based in Gainesville, Missouri. He gave the flyer to the Airport after it made its maiden flight in 2003 to commerate the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' flight. On Saturday Gahn and members of the EAA helped Airport staff move the flyer to its new home. Visit Gahns's web site for detailed information about the flyer: http://www.eaa1218.org/bghan.htm
